TL;DR: Kharon is seeking a full‑time senior live video producer to lead and grow its webinar program. The position is based in Washington D.C. and requires in‑office attendance at least 3 days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Sourcing and Developing Topics: Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify urgent subjects and connect complex data to real‑world impact.
Directing the Flow: Build game plans for each webinar, guiding experts beyond scripted presentations into natural conversations.
Oversee Production: Lead the live‑to‑tape environment—manage camera angles, monitor audio levels, and ensure proper lighting.
Active Showrunning: Manage timing and provide cues to talent to keep the conversation energetic and on‑track.
Audience Connection: Monitor live reactions and chats to surface the best audience questions, enhancing engagement.
Audience Growth: Partner with marketing and commercial teams to reach and grow the right audiences, informing editorial strategy.
Post‑Show Strategy: Identify high‑impact moments for highlights and social clips to extend webinar influence post‑live.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5+ years in studio/video production, broadcasting, or professional video podcasts, ideally within a newsroom or similar environment.
Strong news judgment and the ability to interview subject matter experts to extract insider value; skill in drafting structured outlines and interview questions.
Technical familiarity with podcast‑style studio gear (mics, cameras, lighting) and live‑switching software (e.g., Riverside).
Meticulous organization paired with journalistic curiosity; collaborative partner who brings a steadying influence to the studio.
Experience with or strong interest in national security, geopolitics, and global trade.
