Minimum Qualifications

1–2 years of experience in live sports production, broadcast journalism, public address announcing, or related live-event communication roles
Strong vocal delivery skills with clear diction, pacing, and audience engagement ability
Experience working in high-pressure live event environments with real-time direction
Ability to remain focused and professional for 3–5 hour events.
Strong communication skills and ability to respond quickly to in-game changes
Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
Ability to work consistently with athletic event schedules and last-minute changes
High energy and engaging personality
Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
Professional, reliable, and team-oriented approach in live event settings
Desired Qualifications

Previous experience as a PA announcer or in-arena host
Familiarity with collegiate athletics and game flow for sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, and softball
Experience working within Division I athletics or similar high-level sports environments
Strong understanding of NCAA game structure and in-game timing
Experience working with live production teams and in-arena entertainment environments
Position Purpose

The Public Address (PA) Announcer serves as the voice of Oakland University Athletics during live home athletic events. This role is responsible for delivering clear, energetic, and professional in-game announcements that enhance the fan experience and support game operations across multiple sports.
Job Duties

Provide live play-by-play style announcements, introductions, and in-game reads for athletic events
Deliver accurate roster introductions, scoring updates, promotions, and sponsorship messages
Maintain energy, timing, and professionalism throughout games to support atmosphere and engagement
Take direction quickly from production and game operations staff via headset or communication systems
Collaborate with game operations, marketing, and production teams to ensure smooth event execution
Adapt tone and delivery based on sport, event type, and game flow
