WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Communications and Marketing
PAY GRADE: Admin 03 (230 Days) DEPARTMENT: Marketing and Communications

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To support the district’s overall marketing and communications efforts through the development and implementation of strategic marketing campaigns and creative design solutions. The Marketing and Design Coordinator plays a key role in promoting Irving ISD by creating compelling visual and written content that supports district branding, recruitment, enrollment, employee engagement, community awareness and organizational goals. This position combines marketing strategy and graphic design skills to help plan, implement and evaluate marketing efforts across print, digital, social media and other communication channels.
Qualifications Minimum Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, public relations, advertising, or other related field.
Special Knowledge/Skills
Bilingual Preferred
Knowledge of marketing principles, branding and audience engagement strategies
Strong graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
Experience with Canva and digital content creation tools
Knowledge of social media platforms, digital advertising and content management systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated skills in writing, proofreading and editing for proper grammar and punctuation
Ability to create high-quality print and digital materials aligned to brand standards
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational, project management, customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to analyze marketing data and campaign performance metrics
Knowledge of photography, videography and basic video editing preferred
Understanding of branding, marketing and communications and how the disciplines complement each other
Minimum Experience:
Three years of professional experience in marketing, communications, graphic design or a related field
Experience in developing and implementing marketing campaigns preferred
Experience in school environment or non-profit setting preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties Assist in developing and implementing district marketing strategies that support recruitment, enrollment, employee engagement and community awareness goals.
Create and support integrated marketing campaigns across print, digital, social media, web, email and other communication channels.
Collaborate with departments and campuses to identify marketing needs and develop promotional strategies that support district priorities.
Support district recruitment and enrollment initiatives through targeted marketing campaigns, promotional materials and digital content.
Assist in planning, promoting and supporting district events, programs and initiatives.
Design and produce high-quality print and digital materials, including brochures, flyers, advertisements, presentations, social media graphics, banners, signage and promotional items.
Ensure all materials align with district branding standards, visual identity guidelines and communication expectations.
Create graphics and visual assets for district websites, social media platforms, email campaigns, digital advertising and other communication channels.
Collaborate with district departments, campuses and communications staff to develop creative solutions that effectively communicate key messages.
Maintain and organize digital design files, campaign materials, templates and brand assets.
Create engaging written and visual content for digital platforms, including websites, email campaigns, social media and online advertising.
Assist with content planning, scheduling and coordination to support district communication and marketing goals.
Support digital advertising efforts, including campaign setup, monitoring and reporting.
Track and analyze marketing campaign performance using available analytics tools.
Prepare reports and recommendations to improve campaign effectiveness, audience engagement and return on investment.
Monitor marketing trends and recommend innovative strategies, tools and approaches to support district goals.
Serve as a marketing and creative resource for district departments and campuses.
Collaborate with communications staff, designers, photographers, videographers and external vendors to execute projects.
Attend district events as needed to support marketing, communications and promotional efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making. Frequent in-district and occasional in-state or national travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
Safety: Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidents immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
