Help tell our story through creative, engaging social media content.
The ImpactKits Project is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Content Creator to help grow our presence across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and other social media channels . If you enjoy creating videos, following trends, designing graphics, filming content, or simply making social media that's fun and engaging, we'd love to have you on our team.
Unlike many nonprofit volunteer opportunities, you'll work directly with a passionate team of high school student leaders building ImpactKits from the ground up. This is a fully remote role where you'll have the creative freedom to develop engaging content that helps people discover our mission and inspires them to volunteer, donate, and get involved. We'll provide campaign ideas, branding, messaging, and organizational support, while encouraging you to contribute your own creativity and bring fresh ideas to life. Your work won't get lost in layers of approval; it will play a visible role in shaping how we connect with our community and grow our impact.
Responsibilities
Create original content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms.
Design graphics, carousels, Stories, and promotional posts using Canva Pro and other creative tools.
Film, edit, and publish short-form videos, including Instagram/Facebook Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts.
Participate in social media trends, challenges, and popular content formats when appropriate for our mission and brand.
Create behind-the-scenes content, volunteer spotlights, event highlights, community stories, interviews, and other engaging content.
Appear on camera for videos if you're comfortable doing so (not required but preferred).
Brainstorm new content ideas and recommend creative ways to grow our online presence.
Collaborate with other dedicated members of our marketing, communications, and leadership teams to plan and create content.
Help maintain a consistent and engaging brand across all social media platforms.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who enjoys creating content and staying up to date with social media trends. Whether you've grown a personal account, created content for a school club, managed social media for another organization, or simply love making videos and graphics, we'd love to hear from you.
Applicants may use Canva Pro (provided through Canva for Nonprofits) or any creative software they are comfortable with. Volunteers are welcome to use free, open-source, or personally licensed software such as CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Blender, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools. If a software provider offers free or discounted nonprofit licenses, ImpactKits is happy to explore those opportunities; however, volunteers should plan to use Canva Pro or software they already have access to.
You should also have:
Examples of previous social media content, videos, graphics, or other creative work (personal, school, freelance, or volunteer projects are all welcome).
Creativity, initiative, and an eye for engaging content.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
The ability to work independently in a remote environment.
An interest in community service and making a positive impact.
Commitment
This is a long-term, fully remote volunteer opportunity requiring approximately 4-8 hours per week for a minimum of three months, with opportunities to remain involved longer. You'll have significant creative freedom while working closely with other dedicated members of the ImpactKits team to develop content that inspires people to volunteer, donate, and support our mission.
