Commercial Video Producer

The Creative Agency Inc. · Fort Collins, CO, USA ·

Pay:
$50,000-$50,000/yr
Job type:
Full Time

Work location: In person in Fort Collins, Colorado

Pay: $50,000.00 - $58,545.76 per year plus competitive revenue share and bonus structure.

The Creative Agency is growing, and our production department is looking for a Commercial Video Producer to help us meet increasing client demand and continue raising the quality, consistency, and volume of the work we produce.

Our team creates video for product launches, advertising campaigns, social media, websites, events, interviews, hospitality, beauty, lifestyle, professional services, and consumer brands.

This is not a traditional filmmaking position. We are not producing independent films or long‑form narrative projects. We value strong storytelling and cinematic instincts, but the work must always serve the client, campaign, audience, platform, and business objective.

We are looking for a commercial producer first: someone who is technically strong, understands brands and marketing, and knows how to make products, people, services, and experiences look compelling.

Put simply, we need someone who can make commercial work feel cinematic without turning every project into a film set.

About the Role
This is a hands‑on production and post‑production position. The Commercial Video Producer will manage projects from pre‑production through final delivery, including concept development, shoot planning, camera operation, lighting, basic audio, directing talent, editing, color, revisions, and export.

You will serve as both cinematographer and editor while working alongside our strategy, design, photography, social media, account, and production teams.

The balance between shooting and editing changes from week to week. Some weeks may include several productions. Others may be focused primarily on post‑production, versioning, revisions, and preparing content for multiple platforms.

The right person must be comfortable owning the entire process.

Projects may include:

Product launches and branded campaigns

Vertical content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and paid social

Horizontal advertising and website content

Product demonstrations and macro product footage

Beauty, cosmetics, fashion, hospitality, lifestyle, and retail content

Founder stories, interviews, testimonials, and employee features

Event and promotional content

Multiple edits and formats created from the same production

We care deeply about production quality, but we also care about whether the content works.

A beautiful video that misses the deadline, ignores the campaign objective, or fails to communicate clearly is not successful commercial work.

Responsibilities
Pre‑Production

Turn campaign goals and creative direction into clear video concepts

Develop shot lists, storyboards, production plans, schedules, and interview questions

Plan for required platforms, formats, aspect ratios, and deliverables

Coordinate equipment, locations, talent, props, lighting, and other production needs

Prepare thoroughly so shoots run efficiently

Identify potential production issues before they affect the final work

Production

Capture professional video for products, people, services, events, and environments

Operate cameras, lenses, lighting, stabilization, grip, and audio equipment

Create intentional lighting for products, interviews, people, and spaces

Maintain accurate focus, exposure, framing, color, composition, and sound

Direct clients, employees, actors, models, and people who may not be comfortable on camera

Keep shoots organized, productive, and moving forward

Follow approved concepts and creative direction

Make strong decisions on set when conditions change

Capture enough coverage to support multiple edits and platforms

Post‑Production

Edit projects from initial assembly through final delivery

Complete professional color correction and grading

Select and work with appropriately licensed music

Create strong pacing, transitions, captions, titles, and supporting graphics

Produce vertical, horizontal, short‑form, and long‑form versions

Organize footage, project files, selects, exports, and archives

Apply revision notes accurately and efficiently

Complete quality‑control reviews before submitting work

Deliver completed work by the established deadline

What We Are Looking For
You are technically strong, visually aware, organized, and dependable.

You understand cameras, lenses, lighting, sound, editing, color, and delivery formats. You also understand that commercial content must accomplish something beyond simply looking good.

You know how to make a product feel desirable, a person feel credible, an environment feel inviting, and a brand feel polished and memorable.

You can contribute ideas without losing sight of the approved strategy or creative direction.

You move quickly without becoming careless.

Commercial Experience Is Important
A filmmaking background is not automatically a negative, but it is not enough on its own.

The strongest candidates will have experience producing video for brands, products, advertising, social media, digital campaigns, or other commercial purposes.

Candidates whose portfolios are primarily made up of short films, documentaries, festival projects, wedding videos, music videos, or personal narrative work may not be the right fit unless they can also demonstrate substantial commercial experience. You will be asked to submit a prompt.

Your first instinct should be to understand the brand, audience, platform, campaign, and intended result. Cinematic storytelling should strengthen the work. It should not become the work.
