Freelance Color Artist Job at Virtual Vocations Inc in New York

To define the visual atmosphere and mood of illustrations, the remote Freelance Color Artist will collaborate closely with the Art Director and 2D Line Artists, focusing on creating color keys and delivering final rendered artwork for characters and environments across various established Glitch IPs.
Key responsibilities

Create color keys to define lighting, atmosphere, palette, and mood based on thumbnails and show references
Translate approved color keys into fully rendered final artwork using clean line art files
Maintain strict adherence to the project's established art style and visual guidelines while implementing feedback from Art Directors

Required qualifications

Strong professional proficiency in color theory, environmental lighting, and digital rendering techniques
Comfort executing various rendering styles, from detailed painterly finishes to clean cell-shading
Proven ability to convey emotion, atmosphere, and storytelling intent through lighting and color choices
Deep understanding of color composition and visual hierarchy to maintain readability in complex illustrations
Advanced proficiency with Adobe Photoshop
