Guru Consulting Services LLC is seeking a highly creative and technically skilled

UI/UX & Front-End Developer

to support the design, development, and continuous enhancement of a large-scale enterprise WordPress website serving prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the public. The successful candidate will design intuitive and accessible digital experiences, develop responsive front-end interfaces, optimize user journeys, ensure compliance with accessibility standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engaging, high-performing, and user-centered web solutions that align with institutional branding and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

✓ Design intuitive, visually engaging, and user-centered digital experiences, including wireframes, mockups, prototypes, user flows, and interactive interfaces that align with institutional branding and accessibility standards.

✓ Develop responsive, mobile-first, and cross-browser compatible web applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), Bootstrap, CSS Grid, Flexbox, jQuery, AJAX, and modern front-end development practices.

✓ Build and customize WordPress page templates, Gutenberg blocks, reusable UI components, landing pages, and content modules while collaborating with back-end developers to integrate APIs and dynamic content.

✓ Improve website usability, navigation, page layouts, user journeys, calls-to-action, and content discoverability through user-centered design principles, analytics, and usability best practices.

✓ Design and develop interfaces compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, ensuring semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, ARIA compliance, screen reader compatibility, and inclusive digital experiences.

✓ Optimize front-end performance through efficient coding practices, responsive media, image optimization, lazy loading, Core Web Vitals improvements, and overall website responsiveness.

✓ Collaborate with project managers, WordPress developers, UX/UI designers, accessibility specialists, QA engineers, marketing teams, and client stakeholders throughout the design, development, testing, and deployment lifecycle.

✓ Prepare design specifications, UI component libraries, style guides, technical documentation, and participate in quality assurance, regression testing, and cross-browser compatibility testing.

Required Experience:

• Minimum four (4) years of professional experience in UI/UX design and front-end web development.

• Strong expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), responsive web design, Bootstrap, CSS Grid, Flexbox, jQuery, AJAX, and cross-browser compatibility.

• Experience designing and developing enterprise WordPress websites, including Gutenberg Block Editor, custom page templates, theme customization, reusable components, and content management.

• Proficiency with UI/UX design methodologies, wireframing, prototyping, information architecture, interaction design, design systems, component libraries, and visual design using Figma, Adobe XD, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

• Demonstrated experience implementing WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, ARIA guidelines, semantic HTML, accessible forms, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and accessibility testing.

• Experience optimizing website usability, performance, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, A/B testing concepts, and user behavior analysis.

• Experience working in Agile software development environments using Git and collaboration tools such as Jira, Asana, Airtable, Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, Information Technology, Digital Media, or a related discipline.
