Overview The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is seeking a dynamic Social Video Manager with a passion for digital storytelling and creative content to join its communications team in Washington, DC. This is a full-time position with an anticipated duration of 24 months. Based in Dupont Circle, this role will focus on increasing Carnegie's video-based output on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, and will involve collaboration with scholars and networks of creators to develop and share strategies for engaging, fact-based content in the evolving new media landscape. Responsibilities Increase Carnegie’s video output on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Train and coach scholars in best practices for short-form video. Create compelling short-form video content. Connect Carnegie scholars to networks of creators. Produce a strategy blueprint that can be shared with similarly positioned organizations. Direct strategy and creative ideation to reach audiences via short-form video. Shoot and edit video content. Work directly with scholars to improve delivery and storytelling. Facilitate shared learnings across Carnegie and partner organizations. Qualifications 4 to 7+ years of experience in communications, with at least 2 years dedicated to social video production. Experience collaborating with content creators, journalists, academics, or digital storytellers, with a strong grasp of building and engaging audiences around fact-based content. Deep understanding of social video platforms, particularly TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts; ability to tailor content for each platform. Proven ability to produce compelling video content and to set and adjust strategy based on trends; strong editorial judgment and news instincts. Experience managing a social media budget and training others who are new to engaging with social media is a plus. Ability to work with scholars to improve delivery and storytelling and to share learnings across organizations. Location: Dupont Circle, Washington, DC. Hybrid work schedule is required (in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).
