The Job
Manager, Business Development (Community Outreach Business Development Manager) works closely with the Director of Sales Performance and other Sales Leaders. The role interns with centers of influence to obtain referrals, drives membership growth through local community‑based marketing, and measures performance against lead and sales goals. The manager plans and executes community events, tracks lead‑conversion and ROI, and ensures compliance with operational processes.
Responsibilities
Partner with all sales leaders across all sales channels to supply a consistent pipeline for assigned sales and membership growth targets.
Build and strengthen relationships with local community stakeholders, including politicians, senior centers, providers, and other influence centers.
Coordinate and represent at community, employer, and company‑sponsored events to promote the organization and generate leads.
Maintain consistent, effective communication with external stakeholders, elected officials, community programs, and growth opportunities.
Track lead and sales conversions and achieve assigned growth targets.
Develop, implement, and monitor lead‑generation plans that convert qualified leads into members.
Help build and advance the company’s brand and value propositions.
Analyze competitor strategies, identify changing patterns, and recommend responses.
Create business cases and secure resources—people, funding, materials—to support strategic initiatives.
Adhere to highest compliance expectations and all sales operations processes.
Use the customer‑relationship‑management system consistently.
Understand all elements of the product portfolio and associated eligibility guidelines for various election periods.
Travel 50% or more of the time.
Seek innovative AI solutions to transform operations and serve members.
Actively support the achievement of SCAN’s vision and goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
3+ years of outside sales or outreach experience within the Medicare community.
5+ years of coordinator or sales‑team‑support experience in Medicare outreach or a comparable background.
3+ years of MS Office experience covering Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
Strong preference for Medicare experience.
Experience in business/product network development and/or marketing.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and privacy laws.
Effective and professional communication skills.
Ability to deliver presentations to leadership and teams cohesively.
Creative problem‑solving, critical thinking, and decision‑making skills.
Demonstrated success in fast‑paced or implementation environments.

Base pay: $92,400.00 to $133,671.00 annually.
