We are seeking a full‑time Lifestyle Show Host for a daily half‑hour program on KOIN-TV in Portland, Oregon. The Host will produce, host, and present the daily show, conduct in‑studio interviews, and participate in on‑location shoots as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily on‑camera contributions to the show.
  • Generate and brainstorm local content ideas with sales managers and the content team.
  • Produce, write, and edit show segments.
  • Interview guests or clients both in‑studio and on‑location.
  • Collect information, video, or photos at remote locations for post‑production.
  • Assist guests with show preparations.
  • Research show topics and develop questions for guests.
  • Assist in booking guests, interviews, and local segments.
  • Support sales presentations and client meetings.
  • Participate in station‑sponsored events to promote the show.
  • Maintain the show’s social media accounts and produce online content, including clips and headline writing.
  • Attend daily show meetings and coordinate with the Executive Producer.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, photography, television, news, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience as a host or on‑air personality.
  • Ability to write, shoot, and edit packages.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with varying timelines.
  • Energetic, positive, and capable of working well in a team.
  • Highly‑motivated self‑starter who can work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Training / Equipment

  • Proficiency with newsroom computer systems, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • High‑stress environment with deadline pressures and the occasional breaking news event.
  • Day‑to‑day multi‑tasking and frequent changes in direction and priority.
  • Travel may be required.
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
  • Willingness to work any shift, including nights, overnights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform typical office tasks.
