Job Overview


Due to the growth of a new long-term contract with an international blue‑chip financial organisation, we are looking for a proven AV Event Technician to join our highly collaborative global team. The role involves providing AV and VC technical support across all meeting rooms and event spaces on the client’s site.


Position Details



  • Role: AV Event Technician

  • Contract Type: Full‑time, Permanent

  • Location: Manhattan, New York City

  • Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 (depending on experience) plus benefits including health, vision/dental insurance, disability, vacation, sickness, 401K, commuter benefits & employee assistance program

  • Hours: 40 hours per week (7 am – 6 pm)


Key Responsibilities


Event Support



  • Run AV events, including pre‑event testing of audio and wireless microphone battery levels.

  • Work closely with Event Managers to develop best practices and team training.

  • Show‑call during events.

  • Liaise with clients for large events to understand their requirements.

  • Attend pre‑production meetings for scheduled special events.

  • Provide primary support to operate global production events.

  • Own the event experience for the meeting host and attendees.

  • Manage high‑profile events and become a trusted advisor.

  • Produce event reports highlighting the use of space.


Video/Audio Conferencing



  • Perform preventative maintenance on AV systems.

  • Site‑certify all new and relocated video conference systems.

  • Carry out video conference software updates.

  • Assist with support for video/audio conferencing problems, investigate faults and recommend corrective actions.

  • Ensure multi‑media/presentation rooms are maintained in good working order.


Faults and Room Checks



  • Carry out regular preventative room checks, ensuring all equipment functions correctly according to the room check procedure.

  • Proactively maintain and report to ensure all AV equipment is of the highest standard and functioning correctly.

  • Assist with first‑line fault repairs.

  • Perform power down/up when required, usually involving out‑of‑hours overtime commitments.


Qualifications



  • Proven experience as an AV Technician within a corporate environment.

  • Good knowledge of AV technologies – installation and troubleshooting.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of providing a “white‑glove” service.

  • AVIXA CTS certification would be advantageous but not essential.
