Novus Select is looking for a highly organized, technically minded, and production-savvy camera assistant and equipment manager to join the team.
This position is responsible for independently overseeing a robust equipment inventory (video, photo, grip & electric), serving as a first AC on location, and supporting various technical aspects of the photo and video production process.
It is seeking a candidate with 5+ years of relevant experience in the production industry who is detail-oriented, dependable, proactive, technically curious, and excited to keep our equipment systems and office operations running smoothly. This role is an office-based position, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday to Friday, and requires domestic/international travel for on-location productions approximately 20% of the year.
While each member of the Novus team brings specific skills to their defined role, our success as a team depends on our desire and ability to collaborate across all elements of the NS workflow.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assistant Camera
- Work on location with various cinema camera systems (Arri, Red, Sony) filling a traditional first 1st AC role
Equipment Management
- Maintain the Novus equipment inventory (firmware updates, manage repairs, new purchases, etc.)
- Prep equipment for productions and demob after wrap
- Manage equipment carnets
- Maintain equipment documents: inventory lists, rate cards, etc.
- Create equipment estimates
Device Management (specific to commercial projects)
- Prep and manage customer devices for use in production
- Develop and maintain device management workflows
Day to Day Operations
- Assist with shipping and receiving of production assets
- Assist with technical aspects of the office: server, monitors, firewall, etc.
