Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Tattoo Artist role based in Huntington, NY. The Tattoo Artist will consult with clients to understand their ideas, design custom artwork, and execute tattoos using safe and hygienic practices. Daily responsibilities include preparing workstations, maintaining equipment, following all health and safety regulations, and documenting consent and aftercare instructions. The role may involve performing piercings, assisting with tattoo removal services where applicable, and collaborating with other artists to maintain a cohesive studio experience. The Tattoo Artist will also support front-of-house activities such as greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a professional, respectful atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • Strong tattoo skills, including line work, shading, color application, and custom design.
  • Art skills in drawing, illustration, and composition, with a portfolio showcasing diverse styles.
  • Customer service skills for consulting with clients, managing expectations, and providing clear aftercare guidance.
  • Experience or familiarity with piercing techniques and safe body modification practices.
  • Knowledge of tattoo removal processes and willingness to learn or support related services.
  • Thorough understanding of infection control, sterilization procedures, and local health regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as studio needs require.
  • Valid tattoo license or certification as required by New York State and local regulations.
  • Previous studio experience is preferred; apprenticeships or formal training in tattooing and body art are beneficial.
