Overview
Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full‑power broadcast television stations in the U.S., including 18 affiliates of the FOX Network. We collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news per week, serving 14 of the top 15 largest market areas.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Capture high‑quality video footage for daily newscasts, special projects, and breaking news coverage.
- Work closely with reporters and producers to visually enhance storytelling with compelling visuals and sound.
- Edit video content for daily newscasts using non‑linear editing systems such as Edius.
- Collaborate with reporters and producers to assemble cohesive news stories that meet station standards and deadlines.
- Ensure edited content is accurate, engaging, and adheres to newsroom style and brand guidelines.
- Manage and organize raw video files, archive footage, and edited content for future use.
- Set up and operate live transmission equipment, including microwave, satellite, or cellular bonded systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues in the field and maintain communication with the control room during live broadcasts.
- Respond quickly to breaking‑news events and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to meet newsroom needs.
- Adhere to all newsroom safety protocols, especially during inclement weather and hazardous situations.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, reporters, and the community while representing the station professionally.
- Stay updated on new technologies, industry trends, and best practices in news production.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of professional news camera experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent driving record.
- Professional skill in operating ENG live trucks, field cameras, and field editing systems, including non‑linear editing and associated photographic equipment.
- Ability to travel out of market and overnight, work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Benefits
Pay rate of $53.64 per hour, dependent on education, skills, experience, and location. Eligible for medical, dental, vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Union‑represented employees receive benefits per the collective bargaining agreement.
