Job Description
The New York Post’s Alexa luxury fashion and lifestyle section is seeking an experienced part‑time Contributing Editor to steer Alexa’s print and web content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and a unique, authoritative voice.
Responsibilities
- Top‑edit stories and provide feedback to writers
- Write headlines, subheads and captions with Alexa’s signature wit
- Proofread stories, circulate pages and input corrections in InDesign
- Ensure tone and accuracy align with the house style guide
- Coordinate closely with the editor, copy editor, photo and design departments
- Prepare stories for web and write SEO‑optimized headlines for a digital audience
- Track workflow through the editorial process at a fast pace and report into the office five days per week during Alexa production periods
Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional experience editing features for a print publication
- Excellent editorial judgment and strong writing, line‑editing and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work environment with strong multitasking, organizational and prioritization skills under tight deadlines
- Proficiency in InDesign, WordPress and Airtable
- Deep knowledge of high‑end products, luxury consumers and celebrity news
