WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Editor, Digital Content works directly with Bain’s senior partners and thought leaders to help them produce published insights capturing Bain’s point of view on the most pressing challenges facing business.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Developing, creating, and curating high-quality content that reflects Bain’s industry and capability points of view across a range of digital formats, including long- and short-form articles, data visualizations, infographics, interactive features, and email newsletters.
Fluidly moving between text-based storytelling and visual presentation of data and insights to produce content that serves a sophisticated, time-starved executive audience.
Working directly with Bain’s partners from the inception of an idea through to publication—providing editorial feedback to sharpen the concept, developing outlines, and editing drafts—while demonstrating the ability to push back on senior stakeholders and challenge them to hone their insights and surface the most compelling, provocative messages.
Posting and displaying content on Bain.com and other online channels, and creating and maintaining documentation of Bain’s online publishing processes.
Leveraging AI tools and platforms throughout the content development process to accelerate production while preserving the genuine human voice of Bain’s experts and the firm.
ABOUT YOU
This role requires a highly experienced digital editor with exceptional writing, editing, digital storytelling, and stakeholder management capabilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
8–10 years of experience in digital publishing, corporate communications, or a closely related field, with demonstrated expertise in web content production and digital storytelling
Experience working directly with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent writing skills across long- and short-form formats, with writing samples demonstrating the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling content
Deep fluency in digital content formats and web presentation, including the ability to fluidly integrate text, data visualization, infographics, and other web-native formats to tell a cohesive story
Demonstrated ability to use data visualization tools (e.g., Flourish, Tableau, Infogram) and content management systems (e.g., Optimizely/OptiServer, WordPress)
Proficiency in or sophisticated curiosity about AI platforms and their application to content development
Working knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and PowerPoint
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within and across teams, influence senior stakeholders, and communicate in an open, direct fashion
Intellectual curiosity about business concepts and a genuine interest in the issues and challenges facing global business leaders
Proactive orientation toward adopting and applying new digital tools to strengthen storytelling and content production
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a strong team orientation
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and remain flexible, resourceful, and efficient
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree; degree in journalism, English, communications, publishing, or a related field
Experience in a B2B or professional services environment
Demonstrated experience writing and editing content for a senior executive audience
Experience with content workflow management systems (e.g., Kapost, Optimizely, Smartsheet, Trello)
Experience with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator
Familiarity with Bain’s publishing ecosystem or comparable professional services content environment
COMPENSATION
In Illinois, the good‑faith, reasonable annualized full‑time salary range for this role is between $109,500–$131,500; placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training, and skill level.
Annual discretionary performance bonus.
This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation.
4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date.
