• Spearhead development and execution of federal advocacy strategies to advance CEBA’s policy priorities
• Build, steward, and leverage relationships with federal elected and appointed officials, staff, corporate members, philanthropic donors, and external partners
• Leverage an active and growing Political Action Committee
• Help set Government Affairs team goals, priorities, and strategies
• Represent CEBA in policy, political, and fundraising settings
• Manage and mentor direct reports, providing strategic direction, coaching, and resourcing
• Prepare regular internal, external, and member-facing communications
Requirements
Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience
Substantial advocacy experience derived from private-sector work, or relevant experience working for a Committee or senior and active Member of Congress
Significant and mature political network on both sides of the aisle in both the House and Senate
Solid understanding of legislative process, behaviors and norms of both chambers and their interaction with the Administration and agencies
Ability to be a federally registered lobbyist, and an understanding of federal gift rules and lobbying compliance
Superb and demonstrable communications skills
Ability to travel up to 30%
