The Marketing and Outreach Manager develops and executes integrated marketing, communications, and outreach strategies to build awareness of United Way of the CSRA’s mission, engage donors and volunteers, and strengthen community partnerships. This role leads efforts in brand management, digital communications, media relations, and event promotion to expand United Way’s reach, enhance donor engagement, and drive measurable impact across the CSRA.
Marketing & Communications
Develop and implement annual marketing and outreach plans aligned with UWCSRA’s strategic goals.
Create, design, and oversee the production of digital, print, and video content—including brochures, annual reports, presentations, and newsletters.
Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and placing orders for all branded organization merchandise.
Maintain a centralized tracking log and historical database of all media hits, press mentions, and news coverage related to the agency.
Manage website content, social media channels, and digital campaigns to increase community engagement and donor support.
Serve as brand steward, ensuring consistent use of UWCSRA’s identity across all platforms and materials.
Draft press releases, coordinate media relations, and work with news outlets to secure positive coverage.
Outreach & Community Engagement
Coordinate with the Operational Development Team to establish organizational best practices and identify professional training opportunities for the workplace.
Build relationships with donors, volunteers, partner agencies, civic groups, and businesses to strengthen community awareness of United Way initiatives.
Coordinate marketing support for major fundraising and community impact events, including Campaign Kickoff, Project Serve, Stuff the Bus, Empty Stocking Fund, and other special initiatives.
Support volunteer engagement and recognition efforts through marketing and storytelling.
Represent United Way at community events, networking opportunities, and speaking engagements.
Project, Campaign, & Event Management
Lead the development, creation, and execution of comprehensive strategic plans for major fundraising initiatives and marketing campaigns.
Track, organize, and manage the physical inventory of all fundraising materials, toolkits, and event collateral to ensure optimal supply levels.
Manage marketing aspects of special events, including collateral, media promotion, and onsite communications.
Collaborate with Resource Development and Community Impact teams to design materials that support fundraising and program goals.
Develop and monitor project budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.
Technology & Analytics
Utilize digital marketing and analytics tools to measure engagement, evaluate campaigns, and adjust strategies for maximum effectiveness.
Maintain donor and volunteer engagement data to track trends and inform outreach strategies.
Administrative & Team Support
Assist with departmental reporting, budgets, and presentations.
Provide guidance to staff, interns, or volunteers supporting marketing and outreach functions.
Maintain excellent customer service for donors, volunteers, staff, and community partners.
Perform all other duties as assigned to advance the mission of United Way of the CSRA.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or related field.
3–5 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or outreach (nonprofit or fundraising environment preferred).
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills; ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marketing tools such as Constant Contact, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of social media, digital advertising, and web content management.
Experience in event planning and media relations preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Full-time, exempt position with occasional morning/evening and weekend responsibilities.
Hybrid work environment with a combination of in-office, remote, and on-site event responsibilities.
Salary range - $42,000-$52,000
