Production Packaging and Forklift Operator

This role focuses on preparing outbound shipments by packaging and palletizing materials, operating forklifts to move products within and outside the facility, and accurately documenting activities using computer systems. You will work as part of a packaging team in a glass bead manufacturing environment, handling materials up to 50 lbs while following strict safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities

Prepare outbound shipments by packaging and palletizing materials according to order requirements.
Operate forklifts safely to move products around the packing floor and to the warehouse.
Transport palletized materials outside the facility and load them onto trucks.
Work as part of the packaging team to prepare customer orders, including filling and sealing 50-pound bags, bulk sacks, and drums.
Apply labels to customer orders accurately and in the correct sequence.
Shrink wrap orders to ensure secure and stable shipments.
Move products efficiently throughout the production and warehouse areas to support ongoing production activities.
Perform general labor duties such as sweeping and cleaning the production floor area to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Complete packaging log sheets and related paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Use computer systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access, to document production and packaging activities.
Support production activities by safely operating plant forklifts in accordance with safety procedures.
Participate actively in Health, Safety, and Environmental activities, including monthly plant audits, accident investigations, and hazard identification.
Essential Skills

Prior job experience in a manufacturing environment.
Prior forklift operational experience or a strong willingness to learn forklift operation.
Ability to safely operate plant forklifts in support of production and packaging activities.
Experience working in production, packaging, warehouse, or general labor roles.
Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Basic computer skills and the ability to work with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access.
Ability to complete packaging log sheets and paperwork accurately.
Strong attention to safety and willingness to participate in Health, Safety, and Environmental programs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in packaging lines, picking, and general production work.
Experience in warehouse operations or general production environments.
Familiarity with labeling, shrink wrapping, and palletizing processes.
Comfort working in a cleanroom or controlled production area, if required.
Ability to work effectively as part of a packaging and production team.
Strong attention to detail in preparing customer orders and applying labels.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canby, OR.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
