Business Development Manager

We are seeking a hands-on Business Development Manager to grow our U.S. business through distributors, specialty dealers, offline retail partners, education and maker organizations, and small-business channels. This is an individual contributor role with no direct people-management responsibility. The successful candidate will own the full partnership lifecycle - from market mapping and outreach through negotiation, onboarding, revenue growth, and ongoing account development.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a U.S. business development plan focused on revenue-generating channel partnerships.
Identify, qualify, negotiate with, and onboard regional distributors, specialty dealers, manufacturer representatives, and value-added resellers.
Build relationships with offline retail, maker, craft, personalization, promotional-product, and small-business partners.
Expand selected education and institutional channels, including universities, design programs, makerspaces, Fab Labs, and workforce-training organizations.
Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, product demonstration, proposal development, commercial negotiation, contracting, onboarding, and account growth.
Work with partners on pricing, margin structure, MAP compliance, sales targets, product training, demand generation, inventory planning, and sell-through.
Represent the company at relevant trade shows, maker events, partner meetings, workshops, and product demonstrations.
Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline, revenue forecast, account plan, and competitive market intelligence.
Collaborate with U.S. and global marketing, operations, logistics, product, and customer support teams to deliver a strong partner experience.
Share market feedback and recommend repeatable channel strategies, partnership models, and product opportunities for the U.S. market.
Qualifications
3+ years of business development, channel sales, territory sales, account executive, or partnership experience in the United States.
Relevant experience in laser engraving, laser cutting, digital fabrication, 3D printing, CNC, professional printing, craft equipment, personalization technology, or adjacent hardware categories.
Demonstrated success developing new accounts or channel partners and converting opportunities into measurable revenue.
Experience working with distributors, dealers, manufacturer representatives, specialty retail, education resellers, institutional buyers, or B2B equipment customers.
Ability to independently manage a territory and full sales cycle in a remote environment.
Strong consultative selling, negotiation, presentation, product-demonstration, and relationship-management skills.
Comfort working in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, cross-cultural organization with a global headquarters.
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30%-40% within the United States for partner visits, trade shows, and customer meetings.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Existing relationships within laser, maker, craft, personalization, promotional products, education technology, specialty retail, or digital-fabrication channels.
Experience launching a hardware brand or product line in a new territory.
Familiarity with channel pricing, dealer margins, MAP policies, sell-through, pipeline forecasting, and distributor performance reviews.
Experience participating in CES, Maker Faire, ISA, Printing United, NAMM, PPAI Expo, or similar industry events.
Working knowledge of laser applications, materials, safety requirements, and product demonstrations.
