Control Room Technician

Clatsop County occupies the northwest corner of Oregon bounded to the north by the Columbia River and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. Named for the Clatsop Indians, Clatsop County is rich in history, scenery and opportunity.

Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through ten divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, Community Development, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, and the District Attorney, and Sheriff's Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district. The Facilities Department reports to the county administration division.
Under supervision of the Jail Lieutenant, this position's duties include providing support to corrections deputies in maintaining the security and welfare of Adults in Custody (AIC), in the Clatsop County jail. Monitoring and operating the automated security system, maintaining jail records, processing warrants and summonses, and operating various types of office equipment including a LEDS teletype. Represented by the Clatsop County Law Enforcement Association (CCLEA) union.

Mandatory Qualifications:
HS/GED, minimum 18 years of age, a United States citizen.
Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the state of Oregon
Must receive and maintain certification in the Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) within three months of appointment.
Minimum two years' experience or equivalent training in office procedures and computer operation.
Requested Qualifications:
Previous experience with CCTV equipment and operations in a jail, prison, or detention setting.
Previous experience in a correctional or law enforcement environment.
College level course work in computer operation.
Proficiency with intercultural communication, including the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish
