Salary/Terms: For the WVSSAC Season. Salary as indicated in the Nicholas County Board of Education Salary Schedule.

Reports To: Principal(s) and/or Band Director

Evaluation: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the building Principal(s) and in accordance with WV State Code 18A-2-12 and WVDE Policy 5310.

FLSA status: Exempt

Qualifications:
Valid West Virginia Professional Teaching Certificate
Endorsement in Music PK-AD or PK-12 preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of instrumental music instruction and performance.
Possess the ability to assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive band program.
Ability to attend after school, weekend and out of county rehearsals, performances, competitions and summer band activities.
Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, staff, and community members.
Satisfactory evaluations and employment record.

Performance Responsibilities:

Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing the school's instrumental music program.
Assist with instruction of concert band, marching band, pep band, jazz band, and other musical ensembles as assigned.
Support student achievement in music performance and music literacy.
Asist with rehearsals, performances, competitions, festivals, and special events.
Assist with recruiting and retaining students in the band program.
Help supervise students during rehearsals, performances, travel, and extracurricular activities.
Assist with inventory, maintenance, and care of musical instruments, uniforms, equipment, and music library materials.
Collaborate with school administrators, faculty, parents, and community stakeholders to promote the band program.
Maintain accurate records related to student participation and program activities.
Comply with all county, state, and federal policies and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Band Director, or Superintendent.
Physical Demands:

Ability to stand for extended periods during rehearsals and performances.
Ability to lift and move band equipment and instruments as necessary.
Ability to travel with students to performances and competitions.
