Overview Marketing Manager for the Litigation Practice Group. This exempt position supports and reports to the Director of Business Development and supports the firm’s Litigation Group, including Antitrust and Competition, Securities Governance and Litigation, and White Collar Investigations and Securities Enforcement teams.
Responsibilities Support relevant practice teams’ marketing efforts as outlined in their strategic plans, including organizing monthly team meetings and working with team leaders to identify and pursue client opportunities and reputation-building activities that enhance profitability.
Maintain strong knowledge of the legal market and the firm’s litigation capabilities nationwide; apply this knowledge to maximize marketing effectiveness.
Manage relevant RFP/proposal responses and pitch preparations, including gathering materials, providing competitive intelligence with the research team, coordinating content from attorneys, proofreading, approvals, and printing/timely delivery of materials.
Collaborate with practice team leaders, partners, and marketing personnel to create, maintain and update website content, brochures, practice profiles, announcements, proposal database information and other marketing collateral for the assigned practice teams.
Plan and execute client events (webinars, conferences, speaking engagements, memberships, sponsorships, etc.), including vetting opportunities, budgeting, site selection, invitations, ad production, event logistics, CLE planning and post-event follow-up.
Work with Public Relations and Communications teams to identify media opportunities, publish client alerts, and support firm blogs.
Coordinate with the Communications Team on submissions to rankings and directories (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500) to support team goals.
Track practice and service activity, including collecting matter summaries for the experience database and directory reporting.
Support lateral attorney integrations (bio creation, announcements, and related materials) and related business development activities.
Monitor client development targets and, with the Competitive Intelligence team, conduct research as needed; contribute to monthly client development reports.
Respond to requests from lawyers, staff, and vendors with excellent customer service and follow-through to meet needs.
Assist the Litigation Group Chair and Director of Business Development with practice development projects as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field with 6–8 years of experience in professional services marketing; law firm litigation experience in Antitrust, Securities Litigation and/or White Collar practices is desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software quickly.
Strong attention to detail with excellent legal writing and proofreading skills; strong organizational and planning abilities to manage major projects and priorities.
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment; provide individualized client service to partners and bring proactive ideas with strategic impact.
Strong analytical and communication skills, both oral and written; ability to interact effectively with partners, attorneys, clients and staff with diplomacy and professionalism.
