Global Account Director, Consumer Vertical

Summary
Senior position that develops and maintains business for significant global Consumer accounts. Focus on selling or improving logistics solutions (road transport, freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, and other value‑added services). Establish and maintain long‑term strategic relationships that go beyond a single point solution. Requires high analytical skill and industry knowledge to unlock hidden value for clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive account plan aimed at maintaining existing business and identifying top opportunities.

Manage named global Consumer accounts in accordance with agreed financial and performance targets.

Develop solutions for the named global customers, leveraging DSV vertical structure and competencies into innovative developments.

Work closely with operations to deliver a high level of service to customers.

Identify and develop relationships with key decision makers at all levels within an account.

Understand the customer’s buying process.

Understand the customer’s business (strategically, operationally, & financially).

Work closely with customers to intimately understand their needs.

Work across all divisions within DSV to create custom solutions that deliver value to customers.

Maintain an open dialogue with the account executive sponsor and keep the sponsor engaged.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in logistics and supply chain management.

Minimum 5 years of recent global account sales experience.

Minimum 8 years of experience in the logistics and supply chain industry.

Subject‑matter expert knowledge of the industry.

Proven track record of sales success within the industry.

Computer Skills

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and others).

Language Skills

English (reading, writing, verbal).

Mathematical Skills

Advanced mathematical skills for project development.

Other Skills

Advanced level of business acumen.

Strong creative problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Self‑motivated team player.

Must be able to travel frequently.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses hands to handle objects, tools or controls; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, or crouches; talks or hears. Uses computer and telephone equipment. Requires close and distance vision. Ability to travel by land, air, or sea as needed.

Work Environment

Compensation
Expected base pay range: $160,000.00 – $220,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location.
