Job Description
Leidos is a global science and technology solutions leader. The Key Management and Analysis Division is looking for a mobile designer to improve user experience for touch‑based and mobile environments. This role is on‑site at a Naval Facility in San Diego and requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret DoD security clearance.

Work a 9/80 schedule (9‑hour days, plus 8 hours on the first Friday and off the second Friday).

Responsibilities

Work with leadership and product owners to develop UX strategy for multiple platform types.

Design solutions that are responsive and/or adaptive to varying form factors and screen widths.

Lead design and execution of highly usable, engaging user experience designs, frameworks and information architectures that focus on user goals and needs.

Develop interactive prototypes using available tools.

Work closely with and provide guidance to developers, engineers and testers.

Manage multiple simultaneous UX research, design and engineering processes.

Own and advocate for the importance of excellent UX design in an engineering‑heavy environment.

Required Qualifications

U.S. citizenship and an active Secret DoD security clearance.

BA/BS in Design, HCI, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with UX experience.

5+ years delivering UX for mobile products, with hands‑on experience in UX research techniques and lean UX process.

5+ years producing UX designs and interaction prototypes using industry‑standard tools (e.g., Sketch, Pixate, Adobe Creative Suite).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

Design experience in a mobile, touch‑based environment.

Experience with ECUs or SKLs.

Demonstrated independence and initiative, identifying, diagnosing and fixing problems proactively.

Strong, defensible design sensibilities with the ability to make a case for choices.

Experience with pixel‑perfect design and collaboration to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Portfolio demonstrating ability to break down complex problems and deliver high‑quality UX solutions.

DoD 8570 approved security certification (e.g., Security+), required within 90 days of hire.
