Our client is seeking an experienced Audio Visual (AV) Event Support Technician to provide end-to-end technical support for corporate meetings, executive events, hybrid meetings, and live productions. This role combines hands-on event production with daily AV operations, ensuring conference rooms, event spaces, and workplace technology remain fully operational.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting executive-level events, troubleshooting complex AV systems, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Event Setup & Technical Execution
End-to-End Event Support:
Set up, test, operate, and strike all AV equipment—including audio, video, data projection, lighting, and wireless microphones for daily meetings, all-hands, and corporate events. This includes in-person, hybrid, and virtual events.
Dedicated Space Production:
Utilize production skills to operate control booth technology (video switchers, audio boards, PTZ cameras) specifically for high-tier events in our dedicated event space.
Speaker & Host Management:
Meet with event hosts prior to showtime to confirm technical requirements, run rehearsals, conduct mic checks, and provide a high-touch customer service experience.
Daily AV Operations & Workplace Support
Proactive Room Sweeps:
Conduct regular, detailed conference room sweeps to verify that Unified Communications (UC) systems, displays, cables, and hardware are fully functional and tidy.
Cross-Functional Support:
AV Break Fix support. Respond to escalated IT/AV tickets. Assist with general workplace hardware support (e.g., printer maintenance and troubleshooting).
Ticketing & Documentation:
Manage and document support workflows in ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence; track daily activities and equipment health; and maintain event support documentation.
Deployments & Upgrades:
Partner with AV engineers on regional deployments, equipment rollouts, and hardware refresh projects.
Training:
Create simple documentation and user guides for end-users. Train internal teams on AV best practices and self-service capabilities.
60% Event Support & Execution:
End-to-end technical management of corporate events, meetings, and live streams across conference rooms and our dedicated event space.
40% AV Operations & Workplace Support:
Daily conference room health sweeps, hardware break/fix, printer support, and technology deployment projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Demonstrated ability to build, execute, and complete initiatives under pressure in complex, cross-functional environments.
Experience:
2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in corporate event support and audio-visual production, including executive-level event support.
Event Tech Proficiency:
Strong technical knowledge of corporate AV systems, Zoom Rooms setups, and standard presentation software (Google Slides, Keynote, PowerPoint, etc.)
Video Production Competency:
Practical experience operating control booth technology, specifically video switchers (e.g., Ross Carbonite, Atem) and multi-camera setups for live events.
Signal Flow & Troubleshooting:
Solid understanding of audio and video signal flow (Dante, SDI, HDMI) with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly during live events.
Hardware Familiarity:
Hands‑on experience with equipment from Neat, QSC/Q‑Sys, Dante Devices, AVoIP solutions, Shure, and Yamaha.
Communication:
Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical services to non‑technical stakeholders and executives.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work on‑site, lift up to 50 lbs. independently (100 lbs. with assistance), and manage the physical demands of event setups.
Flexibility:
Ability to work a flexible schedule (including rare nights and weekends as required by event demands) and travel occasionally if needed.
Preferred Skills:
Live Streaming & Broadcasting:
Familiarity with live streaming workflows, encoders, and virtual event platforms (Zoom Webinars/Events, YouTube Live, etc.)
IT Networking Fundamentals:
Basic understanding of corporate networking principles (WiFi, DHCP, VLANs, QoS) as they apply to AV systems
Certifications:
Q‑Sys Certification and/or AVIXA CTS Certification
