Title: Health Data Services Operations and Strategy Director
Location: San Mateo County, CA (Hybrid)
Preferred Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Position Summary
This strategic leadership role will oversee enterprise reporting, advanced analytics, dashboard development, performance measurement, and digital innovation supporting San Mateo Medical Center, Behavioral Health, Public Health, Family Health Services, Aging & Disability Services, and other county health programs. The ideal candidate is an accomplished healthcare analytics leader with extensive experience managing teams, developing enterprise reporting strategies, leveraging Electronic Health Record (EHR) data (preferably Epic), and driving operational excellence through data.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Health IT analytics and digital health team, providing strategic direction and daily operational oversight.
Develop and execute enterprise-wide healthcare analytics strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Oversee development, validation, and maintenance of executive dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators.
Establish and improve data governance, data quality, and reporting standards.
Partner with executive, clinical, and operational leadership to define measurable business and clinical outcomes.
Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and healthcare reporting standards.
Drive analytics initiatives that improve healthcare quality, operational efficiency, and health equity.
Oversee integration of Epic EHR data with enterprise data warehouses and other healthcare data sources.
Provide leadership for digital health initiatives, including patient engagement and telehealth analytics.
Prepare budgets, cost estimates, and monitor departmental expenditures.
Represent the Health IT Division on executive committees, governance boards, and cross-functional workgroups.
Foster collaborative relationships with County departments and community partners.
Perform additional leadership responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in: Public Health ,Healthcare Administration, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Administration or a related field
Preferred:
Master's degree or other advanced degree in a related discipline.
