Search Solution Group is seeking a Vice President of Total Rewards on behalf of our client, a private hospitality and recreation company, located in Denver, CO. This executive leadership role is responsible for developing and executing the organization's comprehensive total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, retirement, equity, and employee well‑being programs. The Vice President will partner closely with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and cross‑functional teams to ensure total rewards programs are competitive, compliant, financially sustainable, and aligned with the company's strategic goals while fostering a culture of performance, care, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and lead the organization's total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, retirement, equity, and well‑being programs
Design and administer competitive compensation structures, including hourly wages, tipping programs, base salaries, incentive plans, and equity compensation
Provide strategic guidance on executive compensation and prepare materials for the Compensation Committee and Board of Directors
Ensure all compensation and benefits programs comply with applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements
Lead the strategy, administration, and continuous improvement of health, wellness, retirement, leave, and absence management programs
Chair and oversee the organization's Total Rewards Committee, serving as a fiduciary representative for benefit and retirement programs
Manage relationships with external benefits consultants, brokers, vendors, and service providers
Oversee annual benefits renewals, audits, open enrollment, and employee communications
Develop and promote initiatives that support employee mental health, well‑being, and work‑life balance
Advise senior leadership on compensation planning, salary adjustments, organizational design, retention strategies, and job evaluations
Partner with Human Resources, Finance, Legal, and Operations to align total rewards strategies with business objectives
Monitor market trends, benchmark compensation and benefits programs, and recommend enhancements to maintain a competitive position
Lead communication and education initiatives to increase employee understanding of compensation, equity, retirement, and benefits programs
Represent the organization at industry events and remain current on emerging trends and best practices in total rewards
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee experience, operational efficiency, and organizational performance
Perform additional leadership responsibilities as assigned
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required
Master's degree preferred
Experience
12+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, Compensation, Benefits, or related Human Resources functions
4–6 years of executive or senior leadership experience
Extensive experience with executive compensation, equity plan administration, and retirement programs
Experience supporting public company compensation and benefits practices
Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑growth, or matrixed organizations preferred
Hospitality, recreation, or multi‑location industry experience is a plus
