Deployable UAV Pilot

Job Summary
General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA‑SI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a provider of military and commercial engineering services and a leading‑edge expert in systems integration technologies, reliability improvements, and controls system design.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced UAV Pilot to join our Aero Services Division. Employees can live in any state but must be able to deploy both CONUS and OCONUS in support of company projects. Employees in this role enjoy a Flex deployment rotation schedule of roughly 12‑16 weeks working and 12 weeks off while maintaining full benefits. Flex employees work only while deployed or in a training status and receive competitive deployment compensation.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and actively participate in ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management, and safety.

Remotely pilot UAVs to determine compliance with specifications and operational suitability during engineering tests and flight test/demonstration support through specifically prescribed tests and maneuvers.

Define, plan, organize, and execute flight programs and flight test events.

Ensure compliance with service guidance, company policy, and FAA regulations.

Develop and verify procedures for use with new aircraft features and participate in the development of operational and safety procedures and training syllabus courseware.

Conduct demonstrations and participate in operational ground and flight tests of assigned UAV(s). Represent the organization with military and commercial customers.

Instruct UAV student pilots in ground and flight operations.

Observe all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Perform additional functions as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Education and training equivalent to the completion of a four‑year technical degree or trade school equivalency and five or more years of experience in UAV operation or aviation. Equivalent professional or military experience may be substituted in lieu of education.

Detailed understanding of UAV and FAA principles, theories, and concepts.

FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with a current instrument rating and the ability to maintain instrument currency, or DOD specialized remotely piloted aircraft system training/qualification documented on USAF Form 8 or equivalent; Pilot‑in‑Command (PIC).

At least 500 hours as PIC.

Ability to travel on CONUS and OCONUS deployments.

Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and detailed knowledge of computer operations and applications.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, including extended hours and travel as required.

Job Type: Flex Hourly

Salary range: 115,010 - 177,215
