Summary
We are looking for you - with a keen perception, enthusiasm for the fund market and the topic of private markets to join our team in Europe. To expand our team for alternative investments, we are looking for a highly motivated Analyst with strong analytical skills and the knowledge of private markets. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new products and support the maintenance of our current product portfolio. This role requires a blend of quantitative and qualitative analysis, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to staying current with market and regulatory developments.
You will be responsible for monitoring your own portfolio of ratings, as well as assigning new ratings as Scope’s coverage grows. You will be the subject matter expert on your coverage, representing the team and Scope vis‑à‑vis issuers, investors, regulators, and the media and regularly produce research to strengthen Scope’s brand recognition. This is a challenging and rewarding position with significant responsibilities, reporting directly to the Head of Alternative Investments.
Duties & responsibilities
Represents the Head of Alternative Investments in case of absence
Acts as lead analyst with a primary focus on the private markets segments private equity and private debt
Acts as communication point-of-Contact between Scope Analysis and customers
Enhances Scope’s analytical capabilities and methodologies
Analyses qualitative and quantitative fund aspects such as structural risks, operational risks, legal and regulatory aspects
Leads fund rating committees
Monitors existing ratings and if necessary recommends reviews and changes on a timely basis
Creates and monitors peer groups
Is able to conduct discussions with clients, investors and asset managers, as well as giving presentations, explanations and briefings at a highly professional level
Is able and ready to travel and to show flexibility in accepting tasks and duties and carrying them out as directed
Works closely with other Alternative Investments team members, staff and management in Scope Analysis and coordinates the workload of junior analysts
Produces high-quality, insightful and forward-looking research and analytical comments on a timely basis
Informs colleagues in new topics and passes on knowledge within the team
Provides guidance to other team members to produce high quality research and analyses
Professional & personal qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in the private markets industry, that reflects analytical and quantitative skills with a solid understanding of private equity and private debt
Master's degree in finance, banking, economics, statistics, mathematics or equivalent qualification
Extensive knowledge of private markets asset classes, with a focus on private equity and private debt
Willingness to take responsibility with an entrepreneurial attitude
Independent thinker with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Multi‑cultural, collaborative, self‑starter, versatile, inquisitive and detail‑oriented personality
Experiences in research writing with strong written and oral communication skills
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to meet deadlines and motivate others to do the same
Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) computer skills
Excellent proficiency in French and English
The compensation range disclosed may encompass multiple title levels (Scope internal levels of seniority). Your actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to your individual experience, education, and seniority, and the final salary will be determined during the interview and evaluation process.
Pay Band: Senior Director - Alternative Investments Minimum: 109,500.00 EUR Maximum: 134,400.00 EUR Pay Band: Director - Alternative Investments Minimum: 90,000.00 EUR Maximum: 120,000.00 EUR
Bonus: Discretionary
