Role Overview

New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM), an $808+ billion diversified global asset manager, is seeking a dynamic Associate, Communications professional to join the team. Reporting to the Head of Communications for NYLIM, this individual will be responsible for planning, coordination and execution of internal and external communications initiatives that will help strengthen the team’s ability to deliver timely, high-quality, well-coordinated communications across key channels, events and stakeholder groups.
What You’ll Do

Help deliver on NYLIM’s objectives by building and executing internal (80%) and external (20%) communication strategies under the guidance of the Head of Communications.
Manage communications logistics and coordination, ensuring projects are organized, timely and effectively executed.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, trackers and related materials to support strong project management across the communications team.
Support internal communications vehicles, including town halls, intranet content, newsletter preparation, email distributions, leadership communications and other employee-facing channels.
Track, organize and report on communications metrics to assess performance, identify trends and inform future planning.
Format, proof and distribute executive communications, including managing and updating distribution lists.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across NYLIM, including Human Resources and Marketing.
Stay current with communications best practices, emerging technologies and generative AI tools to improve team efficiency, content quality and overall capabilities.
What You’ll Bring

2–4 years of corporate communications experience, preferably in an asset management firm or communications agency serving the asset or wealth management industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field.
Experience in financial services industry highly desirable; interest in asset management a plus.
Strong writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Experience supporting internal communications channels, events, intranet content, email communications or employee engagement initiatives preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Media relations experience and an interest in newsworthy investment trends, issues and milestones.
Experience participating in high-profile cross-functional projects, with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholder groups.
Proactive, resourceful and flexible, with a strong growth mindset and willingness to support both strategic and administrative needs.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
Professional judgment, discretion and ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
Experience using AI-powered communication tools to optimize engagement and support organizational goals.
Hybrid Environment

Office Tuesday through Thursday, working from home Mondays and Fridays.
Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $65,000–$92,500
Overtime Eligible: Exempt
Discretionary Bonus: Yes
Sales Bonus: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications and job location. Employees may also be eligible for an incentive program.
