Xfinity Mobile Arena Broadcast Engineer The Xfinity Mobile Arena is one of the world's busiest arenas, home of the Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia 76ers, Villanova University basketball, family shows and concerts. Since opening in 1996, the arena is the centerpiece of sports and entertainment in the greater Philadelphia region as well as prominently featured in the national spotlight. The 21,000-seat arena is a showcase arena for the company's industry-leading qualities as an operator and an innovator in the live event experience.
Job Summary Broadcast Engineer will support live sports, concerts, and special events in the Xfinity Mobile Arena. This role is responsible for maintaining and operating broadcast systems to ensure high-quality, reliable transmission for in-house video boards, control rooms, broadcast partners and streaming platforms. Responsibilities will also include assisting with the maintenance and operations of the various Video and Audio systems throughout the Arena.
Job Description Responsibilities:
Support live event broadcasts, including camera, video and audio feeds, and integration of those feeds into Arena infrastructure.
Manage signal routing between control rooms, press areas, RF/IPTV systems and external broadcast trucks.
Install, configure, and maintain broadcast equipment and transmission systems.
Support and maintain In-Arena Video, Audio, RF/IPTV systems; support and maintain Arena broadcasting infrastructure.
Troubleshoot technical issues in real time during live events.
Perform preventative maintenance and system testing.
Collaborate with AV, IT, production teams, and visiting broadcasters.
Works with Engineering Staff to ensure all events have proper Part-Time staff coverage.
Acts as the secondary Engineer-In-Charge (EIC) for events at the Arena.
Provides training to production and support staff, as necessary.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Video and Audio Engineering or related field preferred.
Experience in live sports or large-scale event broadcasting and production.
Strong understanding of video/audio signal flow and IP-based broadcast systems.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
