Nonprofit Marketing Intern: Content, SEO & Social Media

Kate’s Club’s vision is to create a world in which it’s okay to grieve, and we want you to join us in this work. We are a community for children, families, and young adults experiencing the death of someone important to them. The organization brings people together around grief, creating safe educational, recreational and therapeutic spaces designed to help everyone express the emotions that come with a death.
We’re looking for a digital marketing enthusiast This intern will create content and analyze metrics across a variety of digital platforms. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, this intern will have a passion for both content creation and optimization, with an eagerness to learn more about marketing at a mid-sized nonprofit organization. This internship will be 10-20 hours per week and will require attending programs with kids, families, and young adults on some nights and weekends in the Atlanta, Athens, Albany, or Brunswick area. Internship dates are negotiable, with a recommended timeframe of September 1 to November 20.
What You’ll Do Website Content & Analytics
Write SEO-driven blog posts on pop culture topics related to grief
Capture the member voice and experience in blog posts, sometimes based on interviews
Improve SEO on new and existing blog content
Social Media Content & Analytics
Attend Kate’s Club programs to take photos and videos for social media sites
Capture the member voice and experience in photos and short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram and Facebook
Maintain detailed records of social media metrics
Analyze social media metrics for trends and suggest ways to strengthen engagement
Marketing Support
Develop graphics and captions to support fundraising efforts
As needed support on other marketing efforts, such as social media captions, graphic design, newsletter design, website support, and more
What you will bring A background and career path in marketing, communications, journalism, media, or data is preferred
Extremely detail-oriented and organized, professional, consistent, reliable, proactive
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and be resourceful in a hybrid work environment
Aptitude for data management and technology systems, including proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite
Understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and BlueSky
Graphic design skills and experience with Canva a plus
What we offer A flexible hybrid or remote model of work (this position will be 10-20 hours per week, with some nights and weekends in-person)
No compensation is available, but college course credit can be approved
