We're seeking an exceptional Head of Editing to join our creative leadership team. In this pivotal role, you'll lead the video editing function and elevate the performance of our marketing campaigns through strong visual storytelling and creative leadership.

You’ll drive visual innovation across multiple SKUs, translating marketing strategy into high-performing creative assets through your editing expertise, storytelling instincts, and leadership. As the creative cornerstone of the editing team, you'll directly impact the brand's success by shaping campaign direction and establishing creative standards.

The Head of Editing bridges the gap between strategic objectives and visual execution, transforming marketing concepts into high-performing creative. You'll define the visual identity of our creative while fostering a culture of creative excellence and operational efficiency within your team. You will work closely with editors on team performance strategies and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities

Establish creative standards through hands-on leadership and visual direction

Provide clear, actionable feedback that elevates edit quality and drives measurable performance results

Ensure all creative meets high standards for both storytelling and technical execution

Personally edit high-priority campaigns to establish quality benchmarks for the team

Identify and implement successful visual techniques based on performance data

Make informed decisions about team composition to maintain high performance standards

Provide clear, actionable feedback that drives immediate improvement and continuous growth

Evaluate editor performance using productivity metrics and performance analysis

Identify necessary skills and resources required for current creatives and upcoming projects

Asset Management

Partner with creative strategists to ensure footage meets brand, legal, and quality standards

Review new footage promptly and provide specific, constructive feedback

Curate strong footage selections to maximize creative possibilities for the editing team

Build and maintain organized asset libraries through strategic delegation

Develop innovative approaches to repurpose existing assets for maximum creative impact

Strategic Collaboration

Align with creative strategists on quality standards and campaign visual direction

Share insights during meetings that connect editing approaches to creative performance

Facilitate knowledge-sharing within the editing team to elevate overall capabilities

Identify and implement emerging tools and AI technologies that improve editing workflows and creative output

Process Innovation

Identify and implement opportunities to improve editing workflows and quality standards

Research and delegate exploration of new tools and techniques that could benefit the team

Balance operational efficiency with creative excellence in all processes

Contribute to testing and developing new methodologies and creative resources

Escalate recurring challenges to management with proposed solutions

Requirements

5+ years of professional video editing experience with at least 1 year in a senior or leadership role

Previous experience at a performance marketing agency, creative agency, or in-house creative team

Proven ability to provide insightful, actionable creative direction and feedback

Expert-level proficiency in Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Suite

Working knowledge of motion graphics and Adobe After Effects

Strong understanding of performance marketing principles and social platform creative requirements

Portfolio demonstrating versatility in style, pacing, and visual storytelling

Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate creative decisions

Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience managing a team of video editors

Experience in performance marketing or data-informed creative development

Working knowledge of emerging AI tools in post-production workflows

Familiarity with AI technologies for video editing and content creation

Experience collaborating with strategy teams on creative concept development

Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives

Experience with asset management systems and footage organization
