Our client is a well-established importer and distributor of home décor, wall décor, and home furnishings serving major US retailers across off-price, specialty, and mass channels. With a broad and commercially driven product portfolio, they maintain strong relationships with buyers at the nation's leading retail chains and have built a reputation for delivering trend-right product at compelling value. This is a company that operates with the speed and agility required in the off-price market - and they need a sales leader who can match that energy.
Key Responsibilities

Own merchandising strategy across the Fashion Bedding and Decorative Pillow brand portfolio, balancing core replenishment programs with trend-driven seasonal collections
Direct assortment planning and line reviews by brand and by account, ensuring differentiated offerings across Walmart, Kohl's, Macy's, JCPenney, Target and other key retail partners
Work with Ecomm Merchandising teams to understand what is selling, at key retail sites, and leverage those learnings to bring to retail
Present seasonal line plans, floor plans, brand performance recaps, and market trend insights/references to support teams and executive leadership to lead the product development for Bi-Annual Textile market
Partner with Ecomm Merchandising to understand ecomm needs and integrate it into textile market development where relevant
Partner with design, sales, and product development to launch new patterns and brand extensions on time and on-trend
Own and execute Fashion Bedding for NY Textile Market Bi-Annually, including but not limited to sample tracking, set up, merchandising, photography, sales presentations, customer meetings, recaps
Translate color, pattern, retail pricing and textile trend forecasting into actionable product briefs for design and product development teams
Analyze sell-through, pattern-level performance, and customer-specific sales trends to identify emerging “big winner” patterns and discontinue underperforming styles
Monitor competitive fashion bedding assortments and home décor trends (color stories, fabrication, piece counts, retails) to inform whitespace and innovation opportunities
Build and manage relationships with internal sales teams and retail buying teams, creating and tailoring pitch decks and assortments to each customer's positioning and consumer base
Champion cross-brand consistency in aesthetic positioning while preserving each brand's distinct identity within the portfolio, including, but not limited to product, photography, packaging, and new brand creation
Qualifications

10+ years of merchandising experience in fashion bedding, home textiles, or a related trend-driven soft goods category. Experience with Fashion Bedding strongly preferred
Track record managing multi-brand portfolios across major department/specialty retail accounts and e-commerce marketplaces
Strong eye for color, pattern, and textile trends, with the ability to translate fashion sensibility into commercially viable product lines
Experience partnering with design and product development teams on seasonal collection development
Analytical skills to evaluate pattern- and brand-level sales performance and translate data into assortment decisions
Demonstrated leadership managing and developing merchandising teams
Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Fashion, Textiles, or related field (MBA a plus).
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
