The

Design Associate

provides production design and administrative support to the Product Design Manager and Packaging Designer. This role coordinates design projects from kickoff through production closeout, prepares production-ready artwork, organizes project assets, tracks deadlines, and ensures design files meet quality and production standards.

plays a key role in keeping design projects organized and moving efficiently while supporting the execution of product and packaging design initiatives.
Annual Salary Range:

$65,000 - $80,000
We are 4x In-Office Per Week with WFH Fridays.

Responsibilities

Project Kickoff: Assist the Product Design Manager with launching new design projects.

Create and maintain project folders, design technicals, and production documentation.

Gather product specifications, reference materials, and design assets.

Coordinate project timelines and maintain project tracking tools.

Schedule design reviews and communicate milestones with internal teams.

Design Production Support

Support the Product Design Manager with production artwork and design updates.

Assist the Packaging Designer with packaging layouts, label revisions, and production-ready files.

Prepare print-ready and digital production files following established standards.

Make revisions based on internal and stakeholder feedback.

Ensure all artwork complies with brand guidelines and production specifications.

Organize and maintain version control of design files.

Production Coordination

Monitor project progress from concept through final production.

Coordinate artwork approvals and production deadlines.

Perform quality assurance reviews to verify artwork accuracy before release.

Organize final files for internal teams, vendors, and manufacturing partners.

Maintain digital asset libraries and design archives.

Project Closeout

Verify all deliverables have been completed and approved.

Archive final production files according to company standards.

Document completed projects and production notes.

Assist in improving production workflows and file organization.

Team Support

Provide day-to-day support to the Product Design Manager and Packaging Designer.

Maintain design templates, artwork libraries, and production resources.

Coordinate sample requests, artwork revisions, and production documentation.

Assist with special creative projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Required

Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.

2-5 years of experience supporting a creative or design team.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Rhino).

Experience preparing production-ready artwork for print and digital applications.

Strong organizational and file management skills.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred

Experience with packaging production and print specifications.

Familiarity with dielines, color management, and prepress processes.
