GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Liturgical Coordinator assists in the preparation of the worship space for most parish liturgical celebrations. The coordinator facilitates funerals and special liturgical celebrations: Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Holy Week, All Souls Day, the Living Rosary, and communal penance services. The coordinator oversees volunteers that provide the supplies and the ambiance for liturgical worship.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees the funeral arrangements (family, space, celebrant, reception and others)
Ordering of liturgical and funeral supplies
Care for liturgical vessels
Maintenance of the parish vestments
Upkeep of liturgical linens
Upkeep of the sacristies
Coordinating Floral Arrangements
Special liturgical celebrations
Oversees the volunteers for Candle Ministry, Linen Ministry, Shawl Ministry, Mary’s Mantle, Columbarium, Greeters/Hospitality, Church Ambiance, Sacristy, Daily Mass, Lectors, Adoration, Brothers and Sisters, Grief Ministry
Coordinates with Music Ministry
Assist with scheduling and coordinating interment services, memorial ceremonies, and related events in the Columbarium
Special Celebrations

Works with Liturgical Team to develop and create the environment and plans for Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Holy Week, All Souls Day, Penance Services, Confirmation, St. Joseph Day, and other liturgical special events
Other Duties

Works with Pastor on liturgical, ritual, and sacramental matters to evaluate current liturgical practices and assess future needs
Coordinates the planning of all liturgical feasts and seasons, including ceremonies, environment and ritual music, including rehearsals
Oversees the development of presider scripts, pastoral worship aids, etc.
Oversees the upkeep of the liturgical space and the acquiring of liturgical paraphernalia, vestments, vessels
Maintain accurate records of columbarium use
Attends and participates in necessary meetings as designated by the parish
Serves as staff liaison to the Worship Commission
Develops and administers the worship office budget and coordinate supplies purchases
Serves as the Liturgical Information Contact for the parish to the Diocese and from the Diocese to the parish
Plans and coordinates guest speakers, teachers, liturgists for educational and inspirational purposes for the Liturgical Ministry
Provides guidelines for sacramental celebrations, seasonal celebrations of liturgy
Serves as a resource to groups that are planning small liturgies
Assists in developing and implementing programs for the parish (Liturgical Ministry training programs)
May assist in quinceañeras and baptism or confirmation sacraments
QUALIFICATIONS

Basic knowledge and understanding of the Sacrosanctum ConciliumAbility to manage multiple liturgical celebrations within the week and establish work priorities
Knowledge of diocesan policies and local regulations regarding columbarium operations is preferred.
Work professionally and effectively with ministries and parishioners
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Bilingual preferred, not required
Active member of the Catholic Church
May require occasional weekend or evening availability
May require lifting of up to 50 lbs., bending, stooping, and climbing
Additional duties as assigned by the Pastor
