**Federal work-study students only** The Fine Arts Library is seeking a graduate student supervisor, with Federal Work Study, for the fall semester to fill the position of Graduate Student Supervisor. The Student Supervisor works alternating evenings from 7pm-11pm, Sundays-Tuesdays (averaging 8 to 12 hours per week) supervising other students when full-time staff are not present. This position involves the supervision of undergraduate student library assistants. Library assistant tasks involve circulation services, such as checking out and discharging library materials and providing information. Library assistants assist with retrieving books, searching for lost items, special projects and occasional shelving. Data entry skills, knowledge of standard office programs, and the ability to work within library guidelines and policies are expected. Graduate Student Supervisors will need to be able to work independently and make sure that all routine tasks are complete each evening. The supervisor will communicate with the manager about student absences, problems with library materials and any issues that arise in the evening.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise library assistants in the evenings.
Help create a welcoming, informative environment for library patrons by answering basic directional, circulation, and library policy questions.
Charge, discharge, renew and retrieve library materials for patrons.
Help patrons locate materials in the stacks.
Provide basic assistance with printers and other assorted library technology.
Record question types and collect statistics at desk though library software.
Assist in closing the library during the final shift of the day.
Assist in maintaining the orderly appearance of the library.
Adhere to all library policies and procedures.
Assist with general library duties as required and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Federal work-study award recipient. (Offered and accepted FWS.)
Supervisory skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Consistent reliability.
Scheduling

This position will start on August 25th of 2026, and end on January 20th, 2027. The Student Supervisor works alternating evenings from 7pm-11pm, Sundays-Tuesdays (averaging 8 to 12 hours per week) supervising other students when full-time staff are not present. Reliability is essential.
Compensation

$16.71/hour

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
