Position Description

The Market Insights Program Manager is responsible for developing and leading a best-in-class market insights program that positions IDDBA as the go-to source for data-driven intelligence across the dairy, deli, and bakery industries. This role translates complex data into actionable insights, fuels industry education, and powers thought leadership through flagship content, including the annual What’s in Store trends publication and industry data dashboards. Blending analytical rigor with storytelling, this role ensures that insights are not only informative, but influential - driving business decisions, inspiring innovation, and elevating industry performance for IDDBA members. This role sits at the intersection of data, trends, and industry transformation - turning data into inspiration and positioning IDDBA at the forefront of what’s next in fresh grocery.

Position Responsibilities

Establish IDDBA as the authoritative source of truth for dairy, deli, and bakery market intelligence by centralizing and synthesizing key industry data.

Transform complex data into clear, actionable insights and narratives that influence retailer, manufacturer, and operator decision‑making.

Build a continuous insights engine, shifting IDDBA from annual reporting to year-round trend identification and market intelligence updates.

Integrate insights across education, events, and professional development, strengthening the relevance and impact of all IDDBA programming.

Manage and deepen strategic partnerships with key data and insights partners to validate trends and enhance industry credibility.

Lead the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data from internal, syndicated, and partner sources.

Establish a centralized approach to data governance, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the organization.

Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling narratives that inform industry stakeholders and support strategic decision‑making.

Identify emerging shifts in consumer behavior, retail execution, and category performance.

Own the development of comprehensive trends reports that highlight emerging opportunities and future‑forward insights across dairy, deli, and bakery.

Deliver ongoing trends updates throughout the year, keeping content fresh, relevant, and responsive to market changes.

Position IDDBA as a thought leader through insights-driven content, presentations, and industry engagement and the go‑to resource for industry insights.

Represent IDDBA as a subject matter expert in market insights at industry events and forums.

Partner cross‑functionally to integrate insights into broader education programming, including webinars, events, and learning experiences.

Develop compelling, visually engaging content that brings insights to life for diverse audiences from executives to frontline operators.

Collaborate with industry leaders to validate trends and co‑create relevant, high‑impact content.

Represent association with optimism and professionalism.

Manage and oversee Board Committees.

Prepare reports for the Board of Directors, and present at the annual business meetings.

Perform other projects and duties as assigned to assist in meeting departmental and organizational goals and initiatives.

Qualifications/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, analytics, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

3-5 years’ experience in market research, insights, category management or related field.

Experience in the dairy, deli, bakery or broader CPG industry preferred.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and translate data into actionable insights.

Experience developing trends reports, whitepapers, or industry publications.

Experience working with syndicated data sources (e.g., Circana, Nielsen, Datassential, etc.)

Exceptional storytelling and communication skills - ability to make data engaging and accessible.

Strategic thinker with a results‑driven, data-informed mindset.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Frequent office work with regular exposure to computer screen.

Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Ability to travel up to 25 days per year to support organizational events and related commitments.

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
