Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the SupervisorProduction Shiftleads and supports a team of employees to ensure efficient and productive operations. This role focuses on maintaining a safe working environment by overseeing the proper use of equipment and scheduling necessary maintenance. The supervisor is responsible for verifying that production output meets established specifications and standards. Additionally, this position requires preparing and presenting performance and progress reports to management to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Workflow and Assign Responsibilities
Assigns tasks and responsibilities among team members to meet production targets
Develops and maintain shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing and uninterrupted operations
Oversees daily production activities to ensure smooth workflows and eliminate bottlenecks
Supports operational continuity by maintaining schedule flexibility, including overtime and weekend work as needed, participating in shift pass-downs that may require early arrival or late departure, and remaining responsive to team communications (e.g., Slack) outside standard hours when required.
Equipment Operations Support
Operates machinery and equipment as needed to support production demands
Troubleshoots and resolves basic equipment issues to minimize downtime
Enforces safe operating procedures and ensure proper use of all equipment
Team Supervision
Provides training and guidance to employees on the safe and effective use of manufacturing and metrology equipment, reinforcing best practices and compliance with safety protocols
Establishes clear daily, weekly, and monthly production goals aligned with company objectives
Clearly communicates team objectives and individual responsibilities to ensure alignment and accountability
Monitors team performance, track progress toward goals, and provide timely feedback
Analyzes production data to identify inefficiencies and recommends process improvements to optimize production output
Other duties as assigned, including analyzing production data and offering constructive improvements to optimize production output
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
External: 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or Internal: 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Prior experience mentoring, leading, or supervising teams
Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and shift pass-downs, and maintain responsiveness to operational communications outside standard working hours as required.
Internal: Must be fully certified on all tools and in good standing with no write-ups or performance issues in the past 12 months
Preferred Qualifications:
Semiconductor Manufacturing or Manufacturing Technology certification
Associate’s degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Semiconductor Technology, or related degree program
Prior experience in discrete manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Ability to proactively identify and communicate risks and timelines to management
Strong leadership and team management skills
High degree of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Demands:
This position requires frequent standing, walking, reaching with arms, using hands, talking, and hearing. Some sitting, climbing, stooping, crawling, or crouching will be needed. Frequent lifting/carrying/moving of up to 10 pounds will be needed and, in some instances, lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds will be required. The ability to adjust vision focus from near to far and peripheral is needed as well as the ability to distinguish the difference in colors.
Supervisors must be clean-shaven to successfully complete the Fit Test and are required to maintain this grooming standard upon their start date. This is essential for the effective use of an Air Purifying Respirator (APR) during specific tasks, ensuring a safe work environment.
