Seeking an experienced Director / Sr. Director, Market Research & Analytics to support commercial insights generation and strategic decision-making. This role will serve as a strategic insights leader, responsible for integrating diverse data sources into clear, actionable recommendations that inform key business decisions.
The ideal candidate brings deep pharmaceutical market research and analytics experience, thrives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, and is comfortable translating complex data into compelling, executive-ready insights. This role partners closely with Commercial, Market Access, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure customer insights meaningfully shape strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Integrate insights across qualitative and quantitative primary research, secondary data, syndicated reports, and advanced analytics to deliver clear, compelling narratives
Lead voice-of-the-customer engagements (HCP, Patient, Payer) to inform strategic priorities
Frame critical business questions and define key information needs
Develop and execute research and analytics plans to deliver actionable insights on customers, competitors, and market dynamics
Design and implement effective qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
Take ownership of business challenges, recommending and executing best-fit approaches
Introduce innovative techniques and best practices to enhance insights generation
Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and performance trackers (e.g., leading indicators, market share, sales, key account insights)
Project Management
Manage end-to-end market research projects, including budget ownership and vendor oversight
Lead agency selection and briefings, ensuring alignment on objectives and deliverables
Evaluate vendor capabilities and ensure high-quality outputs
Clearly communicate research rationale, hypotheses, and methodologies
Deliver insights in a concise, actionable, and business-relevant format
Identify and mitigate risks across research execution and vendor performance
Stakeholder Engagement & Execution
Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, and Market Access teams
Ensure customer insights are embedded into strategic decision-making and planning
Present insights to senior leadership with clear recommendations and implications
Drive alignment across stakeholders to support data-driven execution

Rapidly ramp on business priorities, commercial strategy, and key stakeholders
Assess existing research, data sources, and analytics capabilities
Identify critical insight gaps tied to immediate commercial priorities
Define key business questions and align on urgent research roadmap
Launch priority research and analytics initiatives
By 60 Days
Execute high-priority research and analytics to inform near-term decisions
Deliver initial insights readouts with clear, actionable recommendations
Stand up KPI framework and begin tracking leading indicators
Establish consistent insights cadence (dashboards, stakeholder updates)
Actively influence cross-functional decisions with early insights
By 90 Days
Deliver fully integrated insights across datasets to guide commercial optimization
Launch robust KPI dashboards to track performance and market response
Continuously refine strategy based on real-time data and stakeholder feedback
Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, shaping key decisions
Identify next-phase opportunities and optimization initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum of 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience in market research, analytics, or insights
Expertise in qualitative and quantitative primary research methodologies
Proven ability to integrate multiple data sources into actionable insights
Strong understanding of HCP, Patient, and Payer insights frameworks
Experience building KPI frameworks and performance tracking tools
Demonstrated success managing vendors and external research partners
Strong executive communication and presentation skills
Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MS, MPH, or related field)
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $X to $Y. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
