Graphic and Motion Design Intern

The Gargoyles are seeking a creative, motivated, and passionate Graphic and Motion Design Intern for the 2026-27 season. This hands-on opportunity provides valuable experience within a premier ECHL hockey organization and is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a portfolio in sports media, graphic design, motion graphics, video/photo production, and digital content creation. All applications will be kept on file until the start of the internship program for which candidates apply.
Timeline: September 2026 – April 2027 (or at the completion of Playoffs)
Position Overview
The Graphic and Motion Design Intern will work closely with the Marketing, Game Presentation, and Creative Services teams to create engaging visual content that enhances the Greensboro Gargoyles brand and fan experience. This role will assist in producing graphics, video board content, social media assets, and promotional materials used throughout the season. From game nights and community events to digital campaigns and special promotions, this internship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in sports marketing and content creation.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Experience in graphic design, motion design, photography, video production, or digital media
A portfolio demonstrating creative work in static graphics, motion graphics, video editing, photography, or related content
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and/or Premiere Pro
Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital content trends
Excellent attention to detail and creative storytelling abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
A positive attitude and willingness to collaborate as part of a team
As a Graphic and Motion Design Intern, Your Responsibilities May Include
Creating graphics for social media, website content, email marketing, and game-day promotions
Assisting with motion graphics and digital display content for game presentations
Creating static and motion video board content for themed games
Capturing photo and video content during home games, practices, community events, and team functions
Supporting content planning and execution across digital platforms
Organizing and maintaining digital media assets
Assisting with live event production and game-day entertainment elements
Collaborating with staff to ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity
Assisting with live game coverage on social media
Other duties as assigned
Internship Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Digital Media, Video Production, or a related field
Housing and transportation in Greensboro or surrounding area
Availability to work home games, select road games, and designated office hours
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent creative software
Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality creative standards
Personal camera equipment and/or laptop preferred but not required
Compensation
This is a non-paid internship. School credit may be earned if applicable.
