Help bring stories of impact to life through animation, motion graphics, and visual storytelling.
The ImpactKits Project is seeking a creative and self-motivated Motion Graphics & Animation Creator to produce engaging animated content that inspires people to volunteer, donate, and support our mission. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring or experienced motion designers, animators, and video creators to build a professional portfolio while making a meaningful impact in the community.
As a student-led nonprofit, we have a strong vision for our messaging and community outreach, but we currently do not have anyone on our team with experience in motion graphics or animation. This gives you the opportunity to help define our visual storytelling while working closely with our leadership team. We'll provide campaign goals, branding, messaging, photos, and feedback—you'll bring those ideas to life through creative animation and motion design.
Responsibilities
Create animated videos and motion graphics that communicate ImpactKits' mission, programs, and community impact.
Produce engaging content for Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social media platforms.
Design animated social media graphics, promotional videos, explainer videos, and educational content.
Transform photos, illustrations, icons, and written content into compelling visual stories.
Develop animated graphics for volunteer recruitment, fundraising campaigns, donation drives, community partnerships, and special events.
Create reusable motion graphic templates and branded visual assets.
Collaborate with the Digital Media & Public Relations team and organizational leadership to develop creative campaign content.
Organize editable project files and maintain creative assets.
Stay current with animation, motion graphics, and social media trends to recommend new ideas and creative approaches.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who enjoys animation, motion design, video production, and digital storytelling. Experience creating motion graphics, animated content, or short-form videos is preferred.
Applicants may use Canva Pro (provided through Canva for Nonprofits) or any creative software they are comfortable with. Volunteers are welcome to use free, open-source, or personally licensed software such as Blender, Kdenlive, Krita, Pencil2D, OpenToonz, Synfig Studio, Natron, Olive, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar tools. If a software provider offers free or discounted nonprofit licenses, ImpactKits is happy to explore those opportunities; however, volunteers should plan to use Canva Pro or software they already have access to.
You should also have:
A portfolio or examples of previous work (personal, school, freelance, or volunteer projects are all welcome).
Strong visual storytelling, animation, and creative problem-solving skills.
The ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.
Good communication and time management skills.
An interest in community service and nonprofit work.
Commitment Details
This is a long-term remote volunteer opportunity requiring approximately 4-8 hours per week for a minimum of three months, with opportunities to remain involved longer. Volunteers collaborate remotely through Google Workspace and work closely with our leadership team on campaigns throughout the year.
You'll have significant creative freedom to recommend animation styles, storytelling techniques, and creative concepts while receiving ongoing support, feedback, branding guidance, and campaign direction from our team.
