About the Opportunity
The Jr Web Developer internship supports our Web Development team by performing essential website maintenance, front‑end edits, optimization, and quality assurance tasks. This role is designed for individuals aiming to develop technical skills in an agency environment through hands‑on work with WordPress sites, contributing to the reliability and performance of client digital assets.

Responsibilities

Perform routine WordPress plugin, theme, and core updates

Review websites post‑update for layout, functionality, or performance issues

Utilize WordPress template hierarchy, child themes, and manage backups/migrations in staging environments

Troubleshoot WordPress issues related to plugins, themes, PHP, and configurations

Follow internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) for updates, backups, staging, QA, and escalation

Make basic front‑end edits using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Update website content, layouts, images, buttons, links, and forms

Implement responsive design adjustments across mobile and desktop devices

Conduct basic website speed optimization and document development workPerform basic website security audits and health checks

Assist in hosting environment tasks, including staging workflows and cache management

Support Cloudflare‑related tasks such as DNS review and SSL checks

Help with redirects, broken links, form testing, and deployment launch support

Assist senior developers with new website builds and theme customization

Participate in quality assurance (QA) testing, launch preparation, and post‑launch bug fixes

Requirements

Demonstrated hands‑on experience building or maintaining WordPress websites

Strong baseline knowledge of WordPress template hierarchy, child themes, and staging environments

Basic experience handling database backups and site migrations

Basic proficiency in PHP programming

Proficient in structural HTML and styling with CSS

Basic JavaScript scripting skills

Experience navigating WordPress admin dashboards and modular page builders

High attention to detail with the ability to closely follow established SOPs

Clear written communication and documentation skills

Strong willingness to learn agency workflows and accept constructive design/code feedback
