At NEW Radio, Inc. and Door County Daily News, we believe local media is about much more than headlines. It’s about connecting people with their community.
We’re looking for someone who loves discovering what’s happening around Door County and sharing it in ways that inform, entertain, and inspire. If you’re equally comfortable writing a story, creating a Facebook post, taking photos at an event, recording a short video, or interviewing someone making a difference in our community, this could be the perfect opportunity.
This isn’t a traditional newsroom position. It’s an opportunity to help shape the future of local media in Door County by creating engaging content across our website, social media platforms, radio stations, podcasts, newsletters, and beyond.

What You’ll Do

As our Digital Content & Community Engagement Specialist, you’ll help keep Door County informed, connected, and entertained by creating content across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities include:
Write and publish local news and community stories for Door County Daily News.
Cover breaking news and important community events.
Create engaging Facebook, Instagram, and other social media content.
Capture photos and short-form videos at community events.
Conduct interviews with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders.
Produce content that is informative, useful, and engaging—not just traditional news reporting.
Help develop daily website features and community-focused content.
Assist with newsletters, podcasts, and other digital content initiatives.
Work with our radio stations to expand on-air content into digital stories and social media.
Monitor community happenings and identify story ideas before they become old news.
Assist with sponsored content and digital marketing projects while maintaining editorial integrity.
Occasionally represent NEW Radio at community events and promotional activities.
What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:
Curious and self-motivated.
Comfortable talking with people from all walks of life.
A strong writer with attention to detail.
Active on social media and understands how people consume content today.
Organized and able to manage multiple projects.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team.
Willing to occasionally work evenings or weekends for community events or breaking news.
Passionate about Door County and telling stories that matter to local residents.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in journalism, communications, broadcasting, marketing, public relations, or digital media.
Photography and/or basic video production experience.
Experience with social media management.
Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems is a plus.
Experience editing short-form video is a plus.
Basic graphic design experience is helpful but not required.

Success in this role isn’t measured by how many meetings you attend or how many press releases you rewrite. Success means creating content that people want to read, watch, listen to, and share. You’ll help grow our digital audience by delivering timely, relevant, and engaging local content that keeps Door County residents coming back throughout the day.

Marketing: CUSTOMER DELIVERY SPECIALIST

Our focus is helping local businesses grow with our knowledge of digital, broadcast, and social media products plus local sports. Yes, it's a sales job but your success and growth is just as important as the customers you work with. Your job is not just “Selling Ads”.
If you want to transform your lifestyle and not have to worry about punching a clock, then your next career in waiting for you at the Door County Media Group/NEW Radio, Inc. in Door County, WI. Experience is not necessary and we would prefer you don’t have any expectations, only passion and excitement to help our Customers and Community grow. This position is full-time and compensation includes a base, bonuses and/or commission. In the first year you can expect to make between $50,000-$65,000. It all depends on you.

In this position you will be responsible for:
Building Client Relationships while helping those same clients grow
Creating Custom Marketing Proposals combining traditional broadcast assets with digital elements.
Being self-motivated and managing yourself
Hitting your monthly sales goals
Being highly organized, having strong communication skills and a team player
Using our Digital Assets to Grow local businesses
Making sure accounts are in good standing
Commercial copywriting and mild production skills (training available)
Sales Management position possible for the right candidate
You will have access to The Swagger Institute, Ten Minute Trainer, The WBA and RAB for training and sales resource purposes. This is not a typical 8-5 job, flexibility is a must. This position is not remote.

PART-TIME - Sports Broadcaster
NEW Radio Sports Network has an opening for a part-time on-air sports announcer. You will be calling Baseball, Football & Basketball. This is open to ALL ages! You will get paid to be part of the excitement of High School Sports. Please note that sports broadcasts occur on the weekends and during the evenings, if you have conflicts with these timeframes then do not apply. We take the broadcasts serious but we take having fun even more serious! We have been to 7state championships in the past 3 years, and countless regional and sectional championships. If you want to be a part of this, apply now. We are only looking for one additional broadcaster.
In this position you will be responsible for:
Setting up and striking broadcast equipment
Professionally broadcasting Football, Baseball & Basketball
Reliable Transportation
Open availability week nights and weekends during the seasons
Basic knowledge of Social Media
Writing general recaps of attended broadcasts
