Role Description

KCPR is seeking a full‑time Public Relations Coordinator to join our growing team. This hybrid position is based in San Francisco, with the flexibility to work remotely two days each week.

The Public Relations Coordinator will support day‑to‑day communications programs for venture capital and technology clients while working closely with senior team members on media relations, thought leadership, executive visibility, and strategic communications initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting press releases, media pitches, award submissions, and other written communications
  • Researching and maintaining targeted media lists across business, technology, venture capital, and trade publications
  • Supporting proactive media outreach and coordinating interview opportunities
  • Monitoring news, industry trends, and client coverage
  • Preparing client briefing documents, meeting agendas, and media reports
  • Assisting with strategic communications planning and campaign execution
  • Managing project timelines, deadlines, and multiple client priorities
  • Participating in client meetings and contributing ideas that support communications objectives
  • Collaborating with teammates to ensure exceptional client service and high‑quality deliverables

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience at a PR agency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of media relations and strategic communications
  • Exceptional organization and project management abilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Strong research and critical thinking skills
  • Professional, polished, and confident communicator
  • Interest in venture capital, startups, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
