Located within the College of Arts and Sciences, the largest undergraduate college at Cornell, the Department of Music has approximately 30 faculty members and 25 studio instructors. We teach around 3000 students annually, many of whom participate in our 15+ensembles, including the Glee Club, Chorus, Chorale, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and the Jazz Program. The Department has 30–40 declared majors active annually and an even larger community of music minors from nearly all of Cornell’s Colleges and Schools. The Department is dedicated to excellence in the study of music that reflects a concern for the constant interaction of scholarship, performance, and composition.
The Music Production Coordinator provides operational, production, and administrative support for performances, events, ensembles, and special programs within the Department of Music. Reporting to the Director of Events, this position coordinates logistical and technical planning for concerts, guest artist residencies, lectures, masterclasses, and other departmental events; supports ensemble operations and touring activities; assists with the management of performance facilities and equipment; and provides administrative and operational support for the Cornell Center for Historical Keyboards (CCHK). Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, visiting artists, and external partners, the Music Production Coordinator helps ensure the successful execution of a robust schedule of performances and programs. Responsibilities include event advancement and production coordination, artist hospitality and logistics, equipment and instrument management, student employee supervision, facilities support, financial and administrative coordination, and maintenance of production and operational records.

Required Qualifications
Associate's degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience in event production, performing arts administration, music operations, venue management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience coordinating complex events, programs, or projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Strong organizational, project management, and administrative skills, with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, visiting artists, vendors, and community partners.
Experience coordinating logistics, schedules, and resources in a dynamic, customer-service-oriented environment.
Proficiency with standard business software, including Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based collaboration tools.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently, and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of performances, events, and special programs.
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain authorization to drive university vehicles.
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Experience working directly with people from various socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Experience supporting music, performing arts, higher education, or nonprofit organizations.
Knowledge of concert production, stage management, audio/video systems, livestreaming, or recording technologies.
Familiarity with inventory management, equipment maintenance, or facilities operations in a performance or educational environment.
