Music Ministry Leader – Job Description “Leading God’s people in worship through music and creative expression that glorifies Christ and prepares hearts to encounter Him.”
The Music Ministry Leader is responsible for planning, leading, and overseeing the musical worship ministry of New Hope Family Church. This position plays a central role in shaping the worship experience, coordinating music for weekly services and special events, and leading a team of volunteer musicians and vocalists. Working closely with the Senior Pastor, Sound & Media Director, and other ministry leaders, the Music Ministry Leader uses music and creative arts to help the congregation worship God in spirit and truth.
Key Responsibilities Plan and lead music for all worship services in alignment with the church’s mission and worship vision.
Select biblically sound, theologically rich music that complements the preaching and themes of each service.
Lead rehearsals and prepare volunteer musicians and vocalists for excellence in worship.
Model authentic worship and foster a spirit of congregational participation.
Foster spiritual growth among team members through mentoring, teaching, and providing constructive feedback.
Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of new worship team members
Creative Planning & Collaboration Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to plan services, integrating music, Scripture, and creative elements.
Coordinate closely with the Sound & Media Director to ensure audio, visuals, and livestream elements support worship.
Contribute creative input to the design of seasonal services, special events, and outreach opportunities as called for by the vision and mission of the church.
Support the development of new expressions of worship, including contemporary, traditional, and blended styles as appropriate.
Qualifications Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission, values, and Statement of Faith of New Hope Family Church.
Demonstrated experience leading worship in a church or ministry setting.
Proficiency in vocal and/or instrumental leadership, with the ability to lead a team of musicians.
Ability to plan and coordinate worship services in collaboration with pastoral and media staff.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
