Position Summary
The Assistant InstrumentalConductor supports theInstrumental Music Programby assisting withrehearsals, performances, music instruction, andstudent development. This individual worksclosely with theDirector of InstrumentalMusic to cultivatemusical excellencewhile fostering apositive, Christ-centeredlearning environment. TheAssistant InstrumentalConductor serves asboth aneducatorand mentor, helpingstudents develop theirmusical abilities, character, and appreciation forthe arts.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities

Assist the Directorof Instrumental Musicin planning andconducting rehearsals forconcert band, orchestra, jazzband, pep band, and other ensemblesas assigned.

Conduct rehearsals andperformances in theabsence of theDirector or asdelegated.

Provide sectional rehearsalsand individualized instructionto students.

Assist in selecting, preparing, andorganizing music forrehearsals and performances.

Help maintain highstandardsof musicianship, discipline, and performance excellence.

Support preparation forconcerts, competitions,festivals, tours, andspecial events.

Assist with instrumentinventory, music libraryorganization, andequipment maintenance.

Collaborate with facultyand staff tosupport school-wideevents requiring musicalperformances.

Mentor students byencouraging responsibility, teamwork, leadership,and personal growth.

Communicate effectivelywith students, parents, faculty, and administration.

Perform additional dutiesas assigned bythe Director ofInstrumental Music orschool administration.

Qualifications
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree inMusic Education, MusicPerformance, Conducting, or a relatedfield (preferred).

Experience directing orassisting instrumentalensembles.

Strong conducting, rehearsal, and classroommanagement skills.

Proficiency on oneor more bandororchestral instruments.

Knowledge of musicpedagogy, rehearsal techniques, and performance preparation.

Excellent communication,organizational, and interpersonalskills.

Ability to workcollaboratively as partof a team.
