Job Description
Switcher Operation: Operate Ross, Sony, or Grass Valley production switchers to execute precise video transitions for live and taped broadcasts.
Directing & Switching: Serve as a dual Director/TD, calling the show's editorial cues while simultaneously executing the technical punch.
Producer Collaboration: Work closely with the producing staff to confirm the show rundown, adapt to script changes, and verify all media elements.
Pre-Show Routing: Configure control room inputs and route all internal, external, and live remote feeds prior to air.
Automation & Macros: Program switcher macros and EMEMs to seamlessly execute complex, multi-layered visual layouts.
Graphics Integration: Manage the live insertion of lower thirds, full-screen graphics, and studio chroma keys.
Media Playback: Ensure flawless timing and transitions between live studio cameras, taped packages, and commercial breaks.
Live Troubleshooting: Rapidly pivot to backup sources and workarounds during equipment failures to prevent dead air.
Have in depth working knowledge of all broadcast technology needed for television production in an automated control environment with periodic manual override, and manage the quality control and routing of incoming video feeds and duplication of video programs on a variety of media
Formats and operates Ross Overdrive or similar technology to plan, adjust, and individually execute programs live on the air
Integrates the program segments
Stays abreast of the latest

Operates computers
Completes tasks accurately and independently prior to deadline, in accordance with editorial and production priorities
Functions as effective member of a team
